Maple
Island Log Homes is the largest handcrafted log building
company east of the Rockies producing approximately
40 log shells per year. Maple Island is a leader in
the log home industry and is recognized as one of the
best handcrafted log building companies in North America.
This success has come because of the hard work and talent
of the log crafters, architects and designers who are
challenging the old ideas of what can be done with logs.
Maple Island was started in 1977 by Dave Tuxbury and
the company is now owned by Dave and his brother Richard.
Both are very much involved in the business today and
together have a wealth of log-building knowledge.
Maple Island has found that it is better to work directly
with the buyers instead of working through a dealer.
Subsequently, there are no dealerships or representatives
who market the log homes for the company.
There are two offices for Maple Island:
TWIN LAKE, MICHIGAN
This is their logyard and corporate office. The logyard
is managed by John Knallay who has been with Maple Island
for over 20 years. Eric Gordon manages the sales office
and has been a part of the company for 10 years. Assisting
in sales is Toni Hazelett and our well-experienced accountant,
Jackie Cone.
