Question:

Just bought an 8 year old cabin. Lifeline was used to stain and seal. The clear coat is missing from the tops of most logs. Some are peeling to bare wood, some protected are like new. If I use Permachink again, do I need to strip or blast the house before restaining?

Answer:

You should be able to use a palm sander and remove the flaking areas to apply some fresh stain and then clear coat the entire building. Depends on how extensive it is. It may be more cost and time effective to start over.
