We stained our log home about 3years ago with Ben Moore exterior oil stain it's starting to fade out ,would like to use Sherwin Williams woodscapes latex solid stain, logs are in great shape and clean my concern is latex over oil finish, home is 25 years old. Thanks, Denny

Answer:

Latex over oil is usually OK, but you should talk with Sherwin Williams to see if they would agree. Woodscapes Solid is a very good product in my opinion. I have it on my home and have had very good luck with it.

we applied cetol 1 and cetol 23 to our log siding 5 yrs ago. we now want to apply sherwin williams solid woodscapes. can we do it without sanding the cetol off?

is the sherwin williams you talk about the sherwin williams polyurethane semi-transparent stain, I want to use this on a cypress log home in florida
