i am building a ceder log cabin on premative property, and the chinking process is somewhat a mystery to me. i first started out to build a fort for my son and i to have some adventures in, but it soon turned into a big project with ceder tree cutting, peeling and digging. i dont claim to know what i am doing but i do know that i need to chink in between the french style log cabin logs. i cant afford the good stuff, but i dont want to use the mud and moss either. if you could help me with this i

If you cann't afford the good stuff you could use mortar with expanded metal as a backer. Lots of work though. Also, when it dries it will pull away from the wood leaving a tiny gap allowing water to get in behind and start log rot. They used it for yesrs and we replace it every day!
